A WHOLE LOT of painting going on!

Well, the shelves are built and the painting has begun! But we had no idea that the painting would take longer than the building! An entire day of putting putty in nail holes and putting on primer and then another whole day putting the first coat of paint on. But it's SO going to be worth it!!

Album storage

My dear, sweet, hardworking husband is in the process of building us (me!) a built in shelving unit in our living room... mostly for keeping my scrapbook albums. This is the second weekend he's been working on it (plus a couple of days off) and he just finished with the wood work. Now he has to putty all the nail holes and prepare to paint it next weekend.

So I thought I'd share where my albums are stored now and where they are going...


These are my albums in process stored in my scrapbook room. The left shelf is all albums and then the first album (the pink one) on the right shelf is another one. The rest of the notebooks are paper.




These two bookcases hold all my completed albums. As you can see, I am outgrowing them. There will not be room for the in process albums that are currently in my scrap room. So something had to be done. We've been remodeling for months, so these bookcases, which used to be side by side in the living room, are now split up... one in the living room and the other just stashed in a guest room. Yes, I need those new shelves!




And here they are in process! The large opening at the bottom is for my desk that my grandfather (Pop Pop) built for me. All of the shelves except for that one narrow set, is large enough for scrapbook albums. Of course, I'm also going to have pictures, books, and other knick knacks sprinkled in!



This view shows the awesome corner shelves he put in to tie it into the wall. Awesome! I'll definitely find some cute stuff to put there!

Yes, I actually did a love page; not only that, it's called "Love." Just a little something to show my husband that I appreciate his efforts on Valentine's Day. This was actually a really old Memories class kit. Worked great and I used it up!





I think this is FINALLY the last of our Florida pictures (which we visited in 2005!!) I believe this was a BH sketch.



My father and his cousins, Juanita and Maudie (they were sisters). Unfortunately they both passed away a few months after these pictures were taken. Fortunately, we got the pictures. Daddy now only has one first cousin left (their younger sister). I CASEd this layout from 2Peas.

This is a Foo-Fa-La kit I purchased at Wal-Mart on clearance. I used my mom's class pictures from her 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade classes. The journaling is in her handwriting. I just added the arrows and cardstock - everything else was in the kit.

Kitty cat layouts

This is my Gracie girl... She likes to keep Mama company in her office/scrapbook room, but this night, poor Gracie was just too tired to keep watch... I CASEd this layout from somewhere (I've got to do better remembering where!). Used up an old sheet of cat paper I had; Bazzill chipboard lettters (black ones) and other stuff from my stash.



This layout is courtesy of Carolyn... she and I both did this layout, using new Anna Griffin papers. Carolyn provided me almost every bit of the product for this layout. Someone had posted this sample on line and we CASEd it. In case you can't read it... this is Trixie, asleep on her cat tower... "In my dreams I am jungle kitty and birds fear me."

Brittany and Brandon layouts...

This is my all time favorite picture of the four of us. The layout is CASEd from somewhere... I used my Bazzill stitching template to sew the X's on the ribbon; Heidi Swapp remember stamp; "happy" letters are from the $1 spot at Target; and the rest is from my stash.




















Every year, I have the kids fill out this form... so I can have their handwriting and their thoughts from that time in their lives. This was Brittany's from 2005... she's grown up a lot since then! (Too much - she turns 14 tomorrow!)

Well, so much for staying up to date...

with this blog... I've been scrapping; just not finishing. I finally finished several layouts yesterday, and I've scanned them in today to share.

Last Saturday, the 18th, I had some friends over and we made cards. It was supposed to be Christmas cards (trying to get ahead of the season), but I had to make some birthday, thank you, and sympathy cards first. So it was about 5:30 pm before I got around to starting holiday cards. But I did get 14 done! I'm not going to scan any cards, but they turned out overall pretty cute.

Now on to some layouts!
